When it comes to film and TV production, it’s never quiet on the River Thames.

From action-packed Hollywood blockbusters and gripping crime thrillers, to insightful documentaries, our marine film services team has been immersed in some truly exciting productions recently.

We’re delighted to see many of these are now available to watch, or are about to hit screens soon.

Each job brought its own unique challenges and opportunities – whether it’s supplying boats in shallow waters, coordinating complex scenes on canals, or providing essential marine coordination to ensure a safe and successful shoot.

We’ve loved being part of every production, working closely with crews to bring their visions to life on the water.

We’ll be sharing more in-depth looks at each project soon. In the meantime, here’s a rundown of our recent filming projects:

A Thousand Blows

What is it: A British historical drama series about the Forty Elephants, an all-female crime syndicate clashing with the world of illegal bare-knuckle boxing in 1880s London.

What Livett’s did: We provided all safety boats and camera boats in what were tricky shallow conditions across several days of filming in the Brentford and Mortlake areas.

How to watch it: Now available to stream on Disney+.

Black Bag

What is it: A spy thriller film starring Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Marisa Abela, Tom Burke, Naomie Harris, Regé-Jean Page, and Pierce Brosnan, which follows a British intelligence officer who is tasked with investigating a list of possible traitors, one of whom could be his wife.

What Livett’s did: We supplied vessels and captains to support Diving Services UK during a week-long filming schedule in Amersham.

How to watch it: Out now in cinemas.

MobLand

What is it: This hotly anticipated Guy Ritchie-produced crime drama series stars Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan, and sees two London crime families battle for their empires and lives.

What Livett’s did: Our state-of-the-art landing craft Bravo Lima GB was deployed as a platform for drone filming during several nights of filming on the Thames.

How to watch it: Available to stream on Paramount+ from 30 March.

The Agency

What is it: A covert CIA agent is ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station in this George Clooney-produced spy thriller series.

What Livett’s did: During filming at Tilbury landing stage, we provided safety boat cover and life jacket hire.

How to watch it: Now available to stream on Paramount+.

Gangs of London – Series 3

What is it: The third series of this hugely popular series sees ex-undercover cop-turned-gangster Elliot now operating as a top-level criminal.

What Livett’s did: Filming took place at Durham Wharf and involved several of our camera boats. This completed our Gangs of London hat-trick, following on from our extensive involvement in series one and two.

How to watch it: Now available to stream on Sky.

The Diamond Heist

What is it: This stranger-than-fiction crime caper follows the attempted robbery of a precious gem from the Millennium Dome, as told by the gangsters who did it and the police on their tail.

What Livett’s did: Given the riverside nature of the story, we were heavily involved in the production. This included the provision of the camera, safety and hero boats, marine coordination, the use of East India Quay as a filming location.

How to watch it: Available to stream on Netflix from 16 April.

F1

What is it: Brad Pitt stars as a retired racing driver who is coaxed out of retirement to mentor a rookie F1 prodigy.

What Livett’s did: We sourced the picture boats and carried out all marine coordination for scenes filmed on canals in Leighton Buzzard.

How to watch it: Out in cinemas on 25 June.
