We are delighted to officially welcome Thames Bosun – a highly versatile multicat-style workboat – to the Livett’s fleet.
Purchased in early 2025, Thames Bosun immediately underwent a comprehensive refit to bring her in line with modern operational standards.
This was to ensure she meets the needs to support a wide variety of marine operations on the Thames, both now and long into the future.
Now fully refurbished, she is certified by the Port of London Authority (PLA) for Category C and D waters, clearing up for operations throughout the entire tidal Thames.
Having arrived on the river in October 2025, she is now ready for work and available for hire.
What equipment does Thames Bosun carry?
Designed with versatility at her core, Thames Bosun is a twin screw vessel which is fully equipped for both heavy-duty and specialist tasks.
Her deck is fitted with:
- A 2-tonne hydraulic winch
- Hydraulic loading crane
- Two 13-metre hydraulic spud legs
- Plough dredge
- A hydraulic bow thruster
She boasts ample deck space too, with a four-tonne deck payload and 2.4-metre bow opening allowing for easy loading and unloading, increasing efficiency on tight river schedules.
Additionally, she offers comfortable onboard accommodation for two crew and up to 12 passengers – including air conditioning, electric heating, a galley, toilet, and seating area – making her well-equipped for longer days on the water, or multi-shift operations.
What marine work is Thames Bosun ideal for?
