UK & International Marine Film Services

Livett’s are the go-to experts for UK and international marine film services and coordination

For over 40 years, we have been trusted to provide a turnkey service for film and television production companies looking to shoot the perfect scenes on – and sometimes in! – the water.

From rivers and streams to lakes, coastlines and open sea, our experience filming on waterways of every kind extends far beyond the UK.

In addition to our work across Britain, we have extensive experience supporting marine filming projects throughout Europe, Africa, the United States and the Caribbean, helping productions deliver complex shoots in a wide range of environments and locations.

We are exceptionally proud to have worked with some of the world’s biggest studios and media producers, and to have been credited for our marine coordination services in countless Hollywood films and world-famous television shows.

We are equally proud of our work on smaller productions too, from one-off documentaries to YouTube series.

Alongside the extensive skills and experience of our marine coordination team, we also own one of the most varied and high-quality fleets of any UK-based marine film service provider.

This includes several road transportable camera boats, safety boats and action boats, enabling us to provide comprehensive marine filming support to productions nationwide, across Europe, and in international locations around the world.

Our UK & International Marine Film Services Case Studies

Hollywood blockbusters, world-famous media franchises, unmissable television, PR launches, TV adverts and even the occasional music video – when it comes to marine filming and coordination, we’ve worked on just about everything.

We have been central to hundreds of film and TV productions on the River Thames – more information on which can be found on our River Thames filming page – but some of the most recent marine filming work we have undertaken away from the River Thames includes:

the boys in the boat

The Boys in the Boat

We completed over 12 months of work on the George Clooney-directed film The Boys in the Boat. Livett’s oversaw all marine filming coordination and boat sourcing for scenes shot on waterways throughout Berkshire, Henley, Swindon and Reading.

The Woman In Cabin 10

As part of our international marine film services, our involvement in Netflix blockbuster The Woman In Cabin 10 spanned everything from sourcing the vessel that serves as the film’s eerie, isolated setting, to planning and executing complex shoot logistics across multiple locations around the globe. We also provided full marine support during filming to ensure safe and seamless sequences on the water.

Fast X (Fast & Furious 10)

Livett’s were assigned to work on the latest instalment of one of the world’s biggest and most successful movie franchises. For this we travelled to Portugal to coordinate filming around the Port of Lisbon and River Tagus for scenes featuring one of the film’s biggest stars. The film is due to be released in May 2023.
