The Family Plan 2

Livett’s renowned UK and international marine film services team was brought on board early in the process to help oversee the production and coordination of water-based scenes across the UK.

One of our most important responsibilities was location searching to identify the most suitable spots for filming the required scenes.

Working closely with the production team, we scouted a range of environments that could meet both the creative and logistical needs of the script, ensuring each location offered the right mix of visual impact, access, and operational feasibility.

This groundwork was essential in enabling a smooth and successful shoot across all locations, which were decided as Eastbourne, Faversham, Shepperton Studios, and Westminster.

Another key role was to source the hero vessel for the production. Working closely with our friends at MCC Marine, we secured a suitable craft that features prominently throughout the film.

We then coordinated the transport and logistics of the hero vessel between Shepperton Studios – where it was installed on a gimbal rig to allow for motion-controlled filming on set – and on-location shoots in Eastbourne and Faversham.

For this vital part of the project, we extend a huge thank you to Coast2Coast, who executed transportation flawlessly and ensured the vessel arrived on time and safely.

In Eastbourne, we supported an ambitious shoot that combined camera boat work with helicopter filming. This required meticulous planning of movements, safety, and shot coordination. Drawing on our decades of marine filming experience, we helped deliver this with precision and without disruption.

In central London, we facilitated drone filming around Westminster, helping to capture the capital’s skyline for key establishing shots in the film. Our team handled securing permissions and the accompanying marine coordination.

We’re delighted to say our involvement with the film went perfectly to plan, and the final result looks fantastic on screen.

The Family Plan 2 was released on 21 November 2025 and is available to stream exclusively on Apple TV+.
