How Livett's made it happen
This wasn’t our first mission with Tom Cruise, having previously supported the filming of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. But it was exciting as ever to return to the franchise, with Final Reckoning inevitably becoming yet another blockbuster hit.
Despite the request for marine filming support coming in at short notice, no mission is impossible for Livett’s – and we swiftly secured all necessary permissions and river closures thanks to our unrivalled experience with large-scale productions on the River Thames.
The scene involved the franchise’s iconic star and producer Tom Cruise sprinting across Westminster Bridge for one of the film’s signature action-packed sequences.
Ed Livett served as Marine Coordinator on the project, overseeing all on-water logistics to ensure the shoot proceeded smoothly and securely.
With our own fleet busy at work on other projects, we rapidly chartered a specialist vessel to act as the drone platform to ensure the shoot went ahead as scheduled.
Our versatile Bravo Lima GB was also on hand, acting as the dedicated safety boat throughout.
With filming taking place overnight in such a prime central location, our expertise was crucial in successfully enabling complex drone filming to capture the high-octane moment from stunning aerial perspectives.
We’re delighted to say all filming was carried out safely and without issue, with the final scenes looking truly spectacular on the big screen!
Ed Livett, Managing Director of Livett’s, said: “It’s always exciting to work on such globally recognised productions. Although time was tight for this shoot, our experienced team and great relationships with River Thames stakeholders ensured we delivered a seamless experience for the production team that helped achieve the director’s vision and create another standout cinematic moment.
“It has been a thrill to work on the Mission: Impossible films and we are incredibly proud to have been trusted by the producers. If Tom Cruise ever has the urge to help save the world once again, we’ll be on hand to answer the call!”
