We are delighted to welcome Samphire, a classic 2011 Cornish Crabber 22 gaff cutter, to our growing and diverse fleet.
Designed by Roger Dongray and built by Cornish Crabbers – part of a range of traditional gaffers in continuous production since 1973 – Samphire brings a touch of timeless character to the Thames.
Below deck she offers 2 cabins, 4 berths, a toilet and a small galley, while her hull form and heavy displacement make her steady and well-balanced even in a chop.
A retractable centre plate gives her shallow-draft access when raised and sure-footed handling under sail and around marinas when lowered, backed up by a Yanmar diesel inboard for reliable auxiliary power.
What projects is Samphire suitable for?
With her traditional rig, wooden mast and spars, and classic lines, Samphire is a versatile addition to the fleet.
She’s well suited to heritage and period filming projects calling for an authentic sailing vessel, as well as leisure days afloat, promotional photography and classic boat events.
Her twin-axle braked road trailer also means she isn’t limited to the Thames, and can be transported wherever a project needs her.
You can find Samphire’s full specifications and image gallery on her dedicated fleet page.
