Samphire

About Samphire

Samphire is a 2011 Cornish Crabber 22, a classic gaff-rigged cutter designed by Roger Dongray and built by Cornish Crabbers – one of a long-running range of traditional-style gaffers in continuous production since 1973.

She brings a touch of timeless character to the Livett’s fleet, combining classic good looks with practical, trailable handling.

Below deck, Samphire offers 2 cabins and 4 berths, with a toilet and a small galley fitted out for comfortable days and overnights afloat.

Her hull form and heavy displacement make her a steady, well-balanced boat in a chop, while a retractable centre plate gives her the flexibility to explore shallower water when raised and excellent sailing efficiency when lowered. Her Yanmar diesel inboard provides ample auxiliary power for manoeuvring and motoring.

With her traditional gaff rig, wooden mast and spars, and classic lines, Samphire is well suited to projects and productions looking for an authentic period or heritage sailing vessel, as well as more general leisure and event use.

Her twin-axle braked road trailer also means she isn’t restricted to the Thames, and can be transported to wherever a project needs her.
