Livett’s Launches and Bennett’s Barges teamed up in July and August to help deliver 94 office cabins to Carnwath Road, a key location of Thames Tideway Tunnel’s enormous infrastructure work.
Livett’s flat-top pontoon Dart and Bennett’s box barge Our Duncan were used to transport the cabins from a combination of locations – Northfleet and Denton, Gravesend – all the way to Carnwath Road in Fulham, a distance of 29 sea miles.
Just spotted CHRISTIAN pushing the barge DART upstream, loaded up with some heavy looking cargo

Bennett’s nav tugs Christian and Felix were utilised for the towing process and they operated to their full potential, with their hydraulic wheelhouses helping them reach above the double-stacked cabins to allow full visibility.

This operation took just over two weeks to successfully complete, taking a huge 188 lorry movements off Central London’s roads.

The cabins are being used to further establish one of Tideway’s key sites, a location Bennett’s Barges will be working at consistently for the foreseeable future.
