Livett’s crew achieve RYA power boat qualification

delta lima

Last month, all crew members of the Livett’s Group successfully completed the RYA Power Boat Level 2 qualification, enhancing their existing qualifications and giving them the latest training for our new high-speed RIB, the Delta Lima.

Whilst the Boat Master’s License (BML) that our Captains have fully licenses them to operate the RIB, engineers and other crew members that do not have a BML are required under current legislation to possess the RYA Power Boat Level 2 certificate to operate such vessels. This training has provided further confidence throughout the crew in handling the Delta Lima, which is capable of speeds of up to 40 knots, and requires a minimum of two crew to operate her.

The Delta Lima was added to our fleet at the end of 2013, and is ideal for a range of services including filming, high speed response, and diving activities. The MCA coded RIB was treated to a substantial overhaul last year and is licensed to carry 8 passengers + 2 crew. Her first major filming job was in January on hit TV show 24.

At Livett’s Group we continuously work to keep our crew members trained to the highest standards to maintain our reputation of excellence on the River Thames.  To learn more feel free to contact us at info@livetts.co.uk
