Livett’s & Bennett’s Barges carry out successful emergency response exercise

As part of our requirements to the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, both Livett’s and Bennett’s Barges are required to carry out annual Emergency Response Exercises.

These operations are undertaken by our vessels, crew and office staff, with the purpose of ensuring the companies’ Emergency Response Teams (ERT) can respond at any time to hazards, accidents and emergency situations.

The latest drill to test our ERT was carried out on Wednesday 24 July 2019 and comprised of a man overboard rescue in a joint exercise with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

We are delighted to say the exercise was a resounding success, with the overall conclusions being that the ERT arrangements are in abundance for dealing with an incident of this nature.

Safety is of paramount importance to Livett’s Group at all levels of the business, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the RNLI for their continued support and contributions to vital exercises such as these.

Stay tuned to the Livett’s website and our social media channels to see more pictures, videos and updates about our work on the River Thames as it happens!
