When: September 2015
Where: Tilbury Docks; Tower Bridge; Southbank
To celebrate eBay turning 20 years old, the brief was to build a giant Birthday cake and then float it up the River Thames. The cake was to be delivered to Southbank where eBay employees were having a big party!
Livett’s provided the whole package for this event starting with marine consultancy; we advised what was ultimately possible! We met the clients’ brief in full and helped them gain permission from the Port of London Authority. We provided unifloats for the cake to be built on as well as a build location.
Our berth within Tilbury Docks provided the perfect build location as it is discreet and ideal for craneage/bespoke builds. We provided the tug to tow the pontoon as well as a camera boat to capture the event as it unfolded. What was great about this job was that the idea, permissions, build, delivery and derigs was achieved in less than 10 days!
Lynsey McAlister, Senior Producer, Exposure: “Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all of you help on the eBay project. You made my life very stress-free on the river so thanks again to you and your team.”
