Livett’s provided full marine coordination and specialist fleet support for filming on A Thousand Blows at Isleworth Ait and Chiswick.
Working across two tight and technically sensitive river locations, our team supplied shallow drafted camera boats, safety boats and safety/rescue swimmers as part of a turnkey River Thames filming service.
Production for historical drama series A Thousand Blows required a trusted marine team capable of supporting filming at Isleworth Ait and Chiswick – two locations where space, access and river conditions all need to be carefully managed.
Livett’s provided full marine coordination as part of our turnkey River Thames filming services, helping the production plan and deliver its water-based requirements safely and efficiently.
Our work covered the practical marine logistics needed to support the shoot across both locations, with the right vessels and personnel in place to keep filming moving smoothly.
A key part of the brief was selecting camera boats that could operate effectively in tight river environments. For this, we supplied Echo Lima I, Indigo Lima and Tesla from our specialist fleet.
Their shallow drafts made these vessels particularly well suited to the demands of Isleworth Ait and Chiswick, where manoeuvrability and practical access were essential. This enabled the camera teams to work from suitable platforms while giving the wider production the support needed to film confidently on the water.
In addition to the camera boats, we also provided safety boats from our fleet and safety/rescue swimmers as part of our marine safety services. This ensured the production had a robust safety presence throughout the shoot, with experienced support available on and in the water.
By combining our extensive local Thames knowledge, marine coordination, safety provision and specialist vessels, we helped the production achieve its filming requirements in locations where careful planning and the right fleet choices were crucial.
Ed Livett, Managing Director of Livett’s, said: “What made this project especially rewarding was the need to adapt our support to two very particular Thames locations. Isleworth Ait and Chiswick each present their own access and operational considerations, so careful planning and the right on-water team were essential from the outset.
“It was a pleasure to help the production make the most of those locations safely and efficiently. Projects like A Thousand Blows show exactly why the Thames remains such a valuable and atmospheric filming location when the marine logistics are handled properly.”
