We are delighted to announce that the full fleet of eight game-changing new Tideway class barges have arrived on the River Thames.

Beginning with 1,5000t barge Churchill, which went straight to work in February, sister barges Phoebe, Zeus, Hercules, Poseidon and Apollo soon followed. These range in capacity from 1,000t to 1,600t.

This family of new barges on the Thames was completed with the arrival in London of the final two new 1,500t barges Pegasus and Valiant on 11 April 2018. Take a look at these fantastic pictures of them leaving Rotterdam:

It means Bennett’s Barges have added over 11,000 tonnes of capacity to the River Thames in recent months, something we are enormously proud of.

The barges will be primarily put to work on the extensive Thames Tideway Tunnel project, but they remain available for hire. Please contact us if you have any questions or enquiries regarding hiring them.
