Livett’s Group are delighted to reveal we have recently welcomed eight new apprentices to the company.
Working across various aspects of the business, the apprentices comprise of four trainee boatmasters, three in engineering and another in administration.
The Livett’s cohort make up almost half of the 19 apprentices now working across various companies on the River Thames, demonstrating our continued commitment to the apprenticeship scheme.
The learning process for the apprentices naturally differs from role to role. Our trainee engineers are on-site with the boats one day per week and spend the rest of their week at college, while crew members go on block release to the Isle of Wight for three weeks of intense training before returning to the river to continue their practical learning and hone essential new skills.
The latest intake of apprentices reaffirms Livett’s Group’s commitment to developing the careers of people new to the River Thames, with an emphasis on the very highest standards of training and safety.
We’re also very pleased to say that all new apprentices had proactively approached us wanting to work on the Thames, with some following up on their interest after a work experience stint with the company.
We very much look forward to seeing all apprentices develop and grow over time, as they all have a bright future ahead working on the Thames.
