Livett’s gave a huge helping hand to renowned motorbike stuntman Travis Pastrana this week as he performed a spectacular world first on the River Thames.
The daredevil has made a name for himself jumping out of planes and racing rally cars over the years, but his latest stunt saw him take to the water – performing a backflip on his bike over a 75ft gap between two barges.
It took place against the backdrop of the The O2 to help launch the new Nitro Circus tour, an extreme action sports show led by Pastrana himself.
Pastrana had only 150ft to accelerate up the ramp before the jump and only 36ft to come to a standstill after his safe landing.
In doing so, he became the first person to successfully perform a motorbike backflip across water at such a large distance. Unsurprisingly, the eye-catching moment was covered across lots of the national press, including the Daily Mail and The Sun.

Livett’s assisted at all stages throughout the planning and successful execution of the stunt and we will be producing a more in-depth case study about how we made the stunt happen in the coming weeks.
